About us

Neues Museum Tickets is an independent guide to the Neues Museum on Berlin's Museum Island. We don't sell tickets, we don't belong to the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, and we're not a tour operator. We put the bookable tickets and guided tours side by side and write up what each one is good for.

Why this site exists

The Neues Museum is the building almost every visitor to Berlin ends up at sooner or later, and one that hardly anyone looks up beforehand. People come for a single object — the bust of Nefertiti — and then find themselves in a building that is itself an exhibit: bombed into a ruin during the war, roofless for decades, reopened since 2009, with its scars deliberately left visible. On top of that, the Pergamonmuseum next door is being renovated and remains closed until 2027, which surprises many visitors.

There are real differences between a single ticket, a Museum Island day pass, a guided tour and an app ticket — in cancellation terms, in the audio guide, in access to other buildings. These differences are rarely gathered in one place. That's exactly the place we wanted to build. The starting point for that is All Tickets Compared, the short version is under Admission and Tickets.

How we work

Why there are no prices here

Museum and provider prices change, often mid-season, and depend on the ticket type, date and time. A figure we write down today would be wrong in a few weeks — and a wrong figure is worse than none at all. That's why we never state an amount. What a ticket costs at this moment, you see live in the booking window before you confirm anything. What a ticket includes, is covered in detail here instead.

What we are not

We are not a ticket office. Booking changes, refunds and lost tickets go through GetYourGuide or the respective provider, not through us. Questions about the museum itself — special exhibitions, group registrations, lost property — are answered by the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. How to reach us anyway is on Contact.

We are an independent guide, not a ticket seller. The booking links lead to GetYourGuide and are affiliate links — if you book through them, we may receive a small commission, at no extra cost to you. More on this in the Affiliate disclosure.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell tickets for the Neues Museum yourselves?

No. We compare the bookable offers and link to GetYourGuide, where you book. The contract is made between you and the provider. Which ticket is good for what is covered under All tickets.

Is this site part of the museum?

No. We are independent and belong neither to the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin nor to any tour operator. Official information is published by the museum itself; we summarize the basic details under Opening hours .

Why doesn't this site say anywhere what a ticket costs?

Because prices change, and an outdated figure is worse than none. You'll see the current amount live in the booking window. Why we handle it this way is explained in detail under Admission and Tickets.

How up to date is your information?

Reviews, review counts and ticket contents reflect the status as of late August 2026. Please check opening hours and renovation dates with the museum again before your visit — the Pergamonmuseum, for example, remains closed until June 4, 2027.
